About SolutionBased
SolutionBased makes accessible bathing equipment for people with mobility challenges, and runs its customer support, research and development, engineering, manufacturing and shipping from its Los Angeles headquarters. Its catalogue centres on shower transfer chairs, sliding transfer benches and roll-in shower chairs, with bariatric, pediatric and designer shower stool options alongside a motorized BathLyft bath lift.
The BathLyft Battery-Operated Bath Lift Chair is the product that brought SolutionBased into our bath lift review. It reclines to 53 degrees so the bather can lie back and soak instead of sitting bolt upright, and its hand control is water-tight and floats rather than sinking. A battery safety interlock keeps the seat from lowering unless there is enough charge to rise again, which speaks directly to the worry that keeps many older bathers out of the tub.

SolutionBased products we rated highly
SolutionBased BathLyft Battery-Operated Bath Lift Chair
A top pick in our bath lift review for bathers who want to relax rather than perch. The backrest reclines to 53 degrees, the hand control is water-tight and floats in the tub, and a battery safety interlock will not lower the seat unless there is enough charge to rise again. Fold-down side flaps bridge the gap to the tub rim for the transfer, and the two-piece design assembles without tools.

- A reclining backrest that goes back to 53 degrees lets the bather lie down in the water instead of sitting upright.
- A water-tight hand control that floats means it stays within reach if it slips from a wet hand.
- The battery safety interlock will not lower the seat without enough charge to rise again, which addresses the main fear of being stranded in the tub.
- Fold-down side flaps create a continuous surface for sliding across during the transfer, and the two-piece tool-free assembly makes storage and transport simpler.
- SolutionBased builds a full range of bathing equipment, from shower transfer chairs to a motorized bath lift, from one Los Angeles base.
