About Mediflow
Mediflow USA makes water pillows. By the company's own account, it was founded by Maurice Bard, who found after a car-crash whiplash injury that his pillow felt better resting on a hot water bottle, then spent the next year engineering a pillow whose water level the sleeper could adjust for comfort.
The core idea is a Waterbase layer under a comfort layer: the sleeper adds or removes water to set firmness, so loft is adjusted by fill level instead of by swapping pillows. Mediflow's site cites a study by doctors at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine on its water pillow, published in Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, which concluded that the pillow reduced neck pain and improved quality of sleep.

Mediflow Water Pillow with Memory Foam
A top pick in our cervical pillow review. Its water base levels itself as the head moves, and a layer of ventilated memory foam sits on top. Firmness and loft are set by how much water goes in, so the same pillow can be tuned to the individual sleeper and works for back, side, and stomach sleeping. Mediflow also points to Johns Hopkins School of Medicine research on its water pillow, published in Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
