About Tread Labs
Tread Labs is a Massachusetts footwear company that makes insoles, sandals and shoes around one idea: support only works when it fits. It was founded in 2015 by Mark Paigen, the founder of Chaco, and in 2025 it was acquired by longtime New Balance veterans Nathan Isaacson and Joe Rusckowski, who describe its appeal as precision fit, firm support and long-lasting durability.
The insoles are a two-part system: a molded arch support paired with a replaceable top cover, offered in four arch heights and full shoe sizes so the support can match the shape of the foot. The company backs the molded arch supports with its Million Mile Guarantee, while the top covers are sold separately so they can be swapped when they wear. The Pace 2 Insoles are the model that appears in our orthotic insoles guide, where the four arch heights and the replaceable top cover made them a top pick for buyers who want a precise fit.

Why we recognized Tread Labs
The BestRatedDocs Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our category reviews. Tread Labs earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: assessed against clinical criteria, verified specifications, and real-world user outcomes, and judged on merit.
Tread Labs products we rated highly
Tread Labs Pace 2 Insoles, Extra Firm Clinical-Grade Arch Support, Four Arch Heights
A top pick for buyers who want the support matched to their arch. The Pace 2 comes in four arch heights (Low, Medium, High and Extra High), so the support position can be chosen rather than settled for. It also has a replaceable top cover, so the wear surface can be renewed while the molded arch shell stays in use, and the shell carries the Million Mile Guarantee.

- Four arch heights (Low, Medium, High and Extra High) let buyers choose the support position instead of accepting a single fixed arch.
- A replaceable top cover means the part that wears can be renewed without replacing the molded arch shell.
- The Million Mile Guarantee covers the arch shell, a commitment to the part of the insole that does the supporting.
- A product range that spans everyday, running, walking and cycling insoles, plus wide and short variants, built on the same two-part design.
