About Ritual
Ritual is a supplement company headquartered in Culver City, California, founded in 2015 by Katerina Markov Schneider after she found the ingredient list on her own pregnancy multivitamin difficult to verify. Working with biochemist Dr. Luke Bucci, she built the company around visible-supply-chain sourcing, a program Ritual calls Made Traceable, disclosing the origin and function of every ingredient rather than hiding formulations behind a proprietary blend. The company's original product was the Essential for Women multivitamin, and its catalog has since expanded into prenatal and postnatal formulations, teen and men's multivitamins, a plant-based protein line, and a Synbiotic+ probiotic and prebiotic supplement.
Ritual's Essential Prenatal Multivitamin, the product featured in our own review, is manufactured at NSF-certified US and Canada facilities under current Good Manufacturing Practices and carries Non-GMO Project verification guided by NSF's standards. The product has also been awarded the Clean Label Project's Purity Award, an independent contaminant-testing recognition. In our own evaluation, what stood out is that Ritual builds its prenatal around tolerability rather than a generic nutrient checklist: a delayed-release capsule engineered to dissolve past the stomach, methylated folate that works regardless of a woman's MTHFR genotype, and vegan algal DHA that avoids the fishy aftertaste that derails adherence in many competing formulas.

Why we recognized Ritual
The BestRatedDocs Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our category reviews. Ritual earned it on the strength of the products below, evaluated the same way every product on this site is: assessed against clinical criteria, verified specifications, and real-world user outcomes, and judged on merit.
Ritual products we rated highly
Ritual Essential Prenatal Multivitamin (60 Capsules)
One of our top picks for prenatal vitamins — methylated folate (1,000 mcg DFE 5-MTHF) that works regardless of MTHFR genotype, chelated iron bisglycinate for gentler tolerability, and 350 mg of vegan algal DHA that meets the ACOG omega-3 recommendation without the fishy aftertaste of marine-sourced oils. The delayed-release capsule is engineered to dissolve in the small intestine rather than the stomach, and every ingredient carries country-of-origin disclosure alongside NSF Non-GMO verification.
