About Therabody
Therabody traces back to 2007, when chiropractic student Dr. Jason Wersland was left in chronic pain after a motorcycle accident and spent the next eight years building his own percussive therapy device to manage it. The result, sold under the Theragun name, launched as the G1 in 2016 and the G2PRO in 2017, quickly establishing the company as the category leader in percussive massage. In May 2020 the company rebranded from Theragun to Therabody, reflecting a broader move into recovery and wellness hardware beyond the original massage gun. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, and its devices, including the Theragun line reviewed here, are FDA-registered.
