About Tempdrop
Tempdrop makes a wearable fertility monitor that records basal body temperature while you sleep. The sensor is worn on the upper arm, over the axillary artery, and collects temperature continuously through the night instead of taking a single morning reading. Tempdrop describes an algorithm that filters out disturbances such as restless movement, waking for babies or children, and poor sleep quality, and that learns your own patterns over time. The company says the sensor should be worn for at least three hours, with at least two hours of detected sleep that does not need to be consecutive, so there is no fixed wake-up time.
The sensor pairs with the Tempdrop app on iOS and Android. Tempdrop states that Bluetooth switches on for about 30 seconds when you choose to sync, so the sensor does not transmit while you sleep. The app is free and includes a temperature trend chart, period and symptom logging, and Apple Health and Google Health integration, with an optional Premium tier for ovulation prediction and confirmation. Armbands come in Standard and Extra-Long sizes, and the device carries a one-year manufacturer's warranty. Tempdrop's own instructions describe the device as a tool for monitoring fertility and planning pregnancy, and state that it is not a substitute for a birth control method.

Why we recognized Tempdrop
The BestRatedDocs Top Brand recognition isn't paid for and can't be applied for. We award it to the brands whose products consistently stand out in our category reviews. Tempdrop products we rated highly
Tempdrop Wearable Fertility Monitor for Women (Ovulation Tracker BBT)
One of our top picks for basal tracking when a fixed morning reading does not fit your life. Traditional charting needs a reading at the same time each day after uninterrupted sleep, which shift workers, parents of small children and anyone with broken sleep struggle to meet. This armband sensor records through the night and lets its algorithm find the resting portion of your sleep, so there is no wake-up alarm and no active measurement step. The app is designed to learn patterns across cycles rather than assuming a textbook rhythm, which suits irregular cycles. It is a charting aid for conception and is not a method of contraception.

Tempdrop Wearable Fertility Monitor (Ovulation Tracker BBT)
A recommended pick in our Bluetooth thermometer roundup for fertility tracking. It is worn on the upper arm overnight, so there is no early alarm and no oral reading to take before you get out of bed. It learns your own nightly temperature pattern and syncs to the Tempdrop app over Bluetooth to build your basal temperature chart. Like all basal temperature charting, it is a conception aid and is not contraception.

- Features in two of our thermometer reviews, as a basal tracking pick and as a recommended app-connected pick for fertility charting.
- Removes the fixed wake-time routine of traditional basal charting: worn overnight on the upper arm, with no alarm and no oral reading before you get up.
- Suits the schedules that make morning readings hard to keep, including shift work, broken sleep and life with small children.
- An algorithm that filters out sleep disturbances and learns each user's pattern over time, with a free companion app that charts the results.
- Clear about what it is for: the brand's own instructions position it as a fertility and pregnancy-planning tool, not a substitute for birth control.
